Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is Italy's oldest active shopping arcade, designed in 1861 by Giuseppe Mengoni and built between 1865 and 1877.
KEIM’s mineral silicate paints were used throughout the 2015 restoration to preserve the historic character of the façade. The result is a finish that honours the original craftsmanship of this 19th-century masterpiece.

The restoration unveiled the Galleria’s original two-tone façades, once again highlighting the vision of architect Giuseppe Mengoni and providing valuable scientific insights for the monument’s future preservation.
Commencing in March 2014 and completed in April 2015, the project utilised an innovative self-propelled scaffold that enabled round-the-clock work by a team of twelve restorers. This technology allowed the restoration to proceed without obscuring the Galleria with traditional scaffolding.
